Al-Malik is the King whose dominion is absolute and complete — unlike worldly kings, His sovereignty does not depend on armies, territories, or the consent of subjects. Every kingdom in the universe exists only by His permission, and every authority held by anyone is a temporary delegation from this one ultimate Sovereign. The Quran names Him 'Malik yawm al-din' — King of the Day of Judgment — the day when all borrowed authority expires and only His remains. To know Al-Malik is to be freed from the tyranny of lesser kings: no earthly power can harm you without His leave, and no earthly power can grant you what He has withheld.
