Al-'Azim is the Magnificent — incomprehensibly great in every dimension: in power, in knowledge, in beauty, in glory, in mercy. The word 'azim (عظيم) appears over 100 times in the Quran — it is not a claim that can be argued with but a reality that overwhelms the one who genuinely contemplates it. The Prophet ﷺ pointed to a specific moment of access to this greatness in Salah: 'Subhana Rabbiyal-'Azim' (Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent) said in ruku' — the moment of bowing your head in acknowledgment that you cannot stand upright before such magnificence. True contemplation of Al-'Azim does not crush the believer — it liberates them from the tyranny of small things.
