Az-Zahir is the Manifest — the One who is apparent, evident, and revealed through His signs throughout creation, made visible to those who look with understanding. Every sunrise, every eye that sees, every act of love between creatures, every law of physics reliably holding the universe together — all of it is the manifestation of Az-Zahir, the visible face of an invisible Being. The Quran says He is Az-Zahir precisely in the same breath as Al-Batin (the Hidden) — He is simultaneously the most manifest and the most hidden, present everywhere and yet beyond comprehension. Az-Zahir is the name for the contemplative: the one who trains themselves to see the divine in the ordinary will find that the ordinary is never ordinary.
